THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The following are the steps for recruitment for School Direct Training with Harrington Nursery School:

  • Candidate applies through UCAS for School Direct training choosing Harrington Nursery School as your provider

  • Once the application has been received and processed by UCAS it will be made available for Harrington Nursery School and the University of Warwick to consider

  • The University of Warwick will check applications to ensure minimum entry requirements and academic suitability

  • Harrington Nursery School will review applications (once the University have confirmed approval) and candidates will be invited to an interview, held at Harrington Nursery School.  During these unprecedented times, the interview may take place virtually rather than at Harrington Nursery School.

 Format of interview

  • Candidate to spend time in Harrington Nursery School interacting with children and staff. During these unprecedented times, the interaction element will take place virtually and as part of the discussion the interviewer will ask the candidate to discuss an activity they would plan and deliver to a small group of children.

  • Interview

  • Candidate to carry out an activity with a small group of children (further details made available in interview letter)

 

Offers are made to successful candidates, all offers will be conditional, typical conditions will include:

·       Subject enhancement

·       Disclosure and Barring Service clearance

·       Medical fitness
