Learning

We plan the learning opportunities by identifying children's interests from observing their play and parental input.  We are observing children to identify their interests in order to plan the focus for learning for this term.  This learning will take place both indoors and outdoors.

Research shows children's wellbeing is enriched by being outdoors because nature provides learning experiences and is a natural stimuli for children.  Through outdoor play and educational visits, young children can learn skills of social interaction, friendship, care for living things and their environment.  It provides holistic growth for children allowing individuality, imagination, awe and wonder.  In order to support this we ask parents to send spare clothes for their children and be understanding of our desire to provide children with these opportunities.  Please do not hesitate to speak to one of the team if you have any concerns.

Please continue to let us know your child's hobbies and interests to help to plan your child's future learning.

In order to support your child's learning in the home, you are welcome to borrow educational toys and games.  We have phonic games available to borrow to aid your child's reading and writing.  The staff will show you the aims of the games to support you at home.  Please ask for more information.

We pride ourselves in building relationships with families.  During the year we offer sessions where families can join their child through 'stay and play' sessions or planned events.  The dates for these sessions are shared via Class Dojo and also in our main reception area.

If you would like copies of any information from our website we are able to print this for you free of charge and are happy to translate this into your home language.

We will always look at a change of seasons, patterns in the environment and nature and then see where the children will take this.
