At Harrington Nursery School we ensure that every pupil and their family is welcomed, valued and supported to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background, need or starting point.

We have high expectations for all learners and provide a broad, ambitious curriculum that is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, including those of pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those who may be vulnerable to underachievement.

Strong pastoral systems, effective safeguarding, and a culture of respect and belonging ensure that pupils feel safe, supported and able to participate fully in school life. Through close partnerships with families, targeted interventions, and a commitment to removing barriers to learning, we promote equality of opportunity and positive outcomes for all. As a result, pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally, demonstrating the inclusive ethos that is at the heart of our school community.

We offer a range of opportunities for our children and their families to thrive.

We have an onsite community food pantry and clothes bank, offering support to those who need immediate help alongside a dscreet long term offer where appropriate.

We work in close collaboration with Derby Adult Learning Services, the Best Start in Life Family Hubs and Derby County Community Trust to provide onsite adult learning courses and advice and support to enable our parents and wider families to access a wealth of wider opportunities and guidance.
