TRANSITION to FS1
Hello video and tour
Below you will find some videos for you to watch as often as possible with your child. It’s really important for them to feel confident with what the nursery environment looks like and the names of the staff who will have the joy of spending time with your child. It would be amazing if your child already knew some of the names of the staff before starting in September.
Our sparklers challenges are little activities for you to complete with your child over the summer holidays. We would love to see photos of the ones you have completed (you can send these on dojo)
Below you’ll find our HarringTEN steps to Nursery Readiness. These steps are all the things we feel will support your child well with the transition from home to nursery. Practise them as often as you can, it can sometimes take a while for your child to master some of these skills.
Hand washing has always been important to us at Nursery, but now more than ever it is really important for your child to not only understand when they need to wash their hands but how to do this effectively. The following video is a little song from our lovely staff that can make hand washing fun! Get practising and sing along!
Reading with your child is so important. Not only does it allow you to have special quiet time with your child but it is also crucial in supporting language development. Below are some videos of the stories we will be reading in nursery with the children throughout the year. It would be fantastic if you could watch these together with your child during the summer - Do they recognise the member of staff reading the story? Can they say their name? After reading the story, talk to your child about what happened. Can they name something or someone from the story?
